Michael
Duffalo
April 2, 1936 – March 20, 2026
Michael "Mike" Duffalo, 89, of Jackson, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, with his children and family at his side in Perth Amboy.
Born in Perth Amboy on April 2, 1936, he grew up in Fords, NJ. He graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1954. Mike was an outstanding athlete. He played baseball and basketball on traveling teams while serving in the Army. He moved to Edison in 1963, where he and his former wife, Irene, raised three children. He served as the Treasurer for the Edison High School booster club back in the early 1980s. Mike was a do-it-yourself kind of guy. He liked to work on home improvement projects. He was always willing to pick up a paintbrush or hammer and help whenever needed. Mike retired from the US Postal service in 2002 after 45 years as a mailman in Edison. After retiring he moved to Jackson, to live closer to his daughter and son-in-law. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. When not watching sports on tv, you would find him reading the newspaper or doing word search and crossword puzzles. His family kiddingly referred to him as a walking sports encyclopedia. If you had a sports related question, he knew the answer.
Surviving are his three children, Michael (Stephanie) of Old Westbury, NY, Joanne Catalano (Tom) of Jackson, and Keith Duffalo of Edison, his former wife Irene of Poinciana, FL and grandson, Garrett Duffalo. Garrett takes after his grandfather and his love of sports.
For those lucky enough to know him, he could always make you laugh with his classic one-liners. His witty comebacks will be missed.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude www.stjude.org or the ASPCA www.aspca.org in his memory.
