Michael Francis Beyer, Sr., 57, of Mandeville, LA, passed peacefully with his family at his side on July 17, 2017, at the Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, LA.
Born in Jersey City, and formerly of Iselin, Edison, and Boca Raton, FL, he had resided in Mandeville, LA, over the last 3 years. He was employed as a Sr. Field Engineer with IBM, Amdahl and EMC/Dell spanning 30 years. He was member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy. His favorite moments included being with his wife and sons as well as laughing with neighbors and friends. On his final days, he was helping a neighbor's child set up a tent for camping in the neighborhood.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Arthur, and his mother, Joan Petto Beyer.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Olga A. (Haluska) Beyer; his 3 sons: Michael Francis, Jr.; Staff Sgt. Robert, currently serving in the US Air Force, and his wife, Mallory; Christopher Paul and his girlfriend, Betina; his brother, Arthur Beyer and his wife, Denise; his "Mom," Margaret A. Haluska; his sister-in-law, Eileen M. Haluska; his 2 nephews, Arthur and Mark Beyer; many cousins and friends; and his beloved dog, "Gio" Giovanni.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 with a Parastas at 8 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Service of Divine Liturgy at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in St. John's Church Cemetery.
