Obituary of Maureen "Renee" Brannigan


Maureen "Renee" Brannigan, 66, of South Amboy, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at the JFK Haven Hospice in Edison. Mrs. Brannigan was born in Elizabeth to the late Nicholas P. Dunn Sr. and Marion Dunn living in Fords. She had previously lived in Fords before moving to South Amboy five years ago.

She was employed by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education as a Para Professional for thirteen years before retiring in 2020. Renee was predeceased by her husband Lee in 2016, and a brother Nicholas Dunn in 2019.

She is survived by her two daughters, Leigh-Ann Brannigan of Woodbridge and Erin Masters and her husband Joseph of Millstone Township, her two brothers, Thomas Dunn of Fords, and Timothy Dunn and his wife Dawn of Fords, her one sister, Nancy Carragino and her husband Thomas of Port Reading, five grandchildren, Joseph Michael, Leah Day, Noah James, Christian Lee and Caleb, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Entombment will follow in the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Mausoleum in Woodbridge. Visitation hours will be held Monday from 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
