Matthew Thomas Smith, infant son of Jennifer and Kenneth Smith of Woodbridge, NJ, died Monday December 19, 2011, at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Matthew, 7 ½ months old, was born on May 11, 2011, in New Brunswick. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2011, at 10:30 AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Visiting hours are on Thursday, December 22, 2011, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Matthew's memory may be made to the March of Dimes, 200 Main Street, Sayreville, NJ 08872 or Ronald McDonald House, 145 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08872.

Matthew was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Smith. Surviving are his parents, Jennifer and Kenneth Smith; paternal grandfather, Douglas A. Smith of Rosebank, SI, NY; maternal grandparents, Gary and Deborah Mattson of Old Bridge; maternal great-grandparents, Frank W. Fellrath Sr. and Rosemarie A. Fellrath of Manahawkin; aunt, Amanda Mattson; and uncle, Gregory Mattson.
