Matthew J. Jantas, 42, of Neptune, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

He was born on May 20, 1981 in Perth Amboy , NJ.

He was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, class of 1999.

Matthew was an Eagle Scout of OLP Troop 53.

Matthew joined the Marine Corps in 1999 to 2004. Matthew's rank was a Lance Corporal and he served in the invasion of Iraq.

He was an organizational auto mechanic for 4 years.

Matthew was an Outdoor Construction Worker for the Middlesex Water Co.

He is survived by his parents, Theodore F. and Arlene Jantas, of Fords, his brother, Theodore M. Jantas, of Fords, two daughters, Raven and Phoenix Jantas and their mother Jackie Burns, and his girlfriend, Jessica Sheppard, and her son Brandon.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm , concluding with a service at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.  A cremation will follow privately.
