Matilda B. (nee: Rosko) Sromovsky, 85, of, Edison passed peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home.
She was born in Perth Amboy, and has resided in Edison for the last 48 yrs.
She was a pharmacist for 41 years, beginning with Rabiner's Pharmacy in Perth Amboy, then, Zajac's Pharmacy of New Brunswick, before retiring from Dushock's Pharmacy in South River.
A communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords, and a member of the Holy Spirit Seniors of Perth Amboy, where she was the trip coordinator for 15 years, Matilda was the national auditor from 1976-1992 for the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc. and served as president for the local branch of the assoc.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 62 years, Stephen Sromovsky, her son, Stephen Sromovsky and his wife, Caterina of Jackson, two daughters, Donna Capizzi and her husband, Thomas and Judith Sromovsky and her husband, Frank all of Bridgewater, two grandchildren, Stefanie Capizzi and Jessica Sromovsky, her brother, William Rosko and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863, followed by a 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
