Mathilda Durante, 88, of Fords, passed away on November 11, 2013 at Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ.

Born to Joseph Vitkosky and Anna (Lutrias) Vitkosky on June 7, 1925, she was a life-long resident of Fords. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords, NJ, and was a long-time member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was formerly employed by General Cable Corp. in Perth Amboy and AT&T in Piscataway.

Mathilda was predeceased by her husband, Luke A. Durante, in 1986. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Irene) Durante of Sewaren, NJ; and daughters, Christine (Thomas) Pritchard of Hummelstown, PA, and Joanne (Thomas) Grennan, of Keansburg, NJ; 7 grandchildren: Lisa, Michael, Steven, David, Joseph, Brian, and Jessica; 8 great-grandchildren: Brendan, Anna, Julia, AJ, Brody, Brianna, Jude, and John; and her sister, Anna Marie Zaleski and her husband Anthony of Fords.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863, followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
