Mary Evelyn Peterson, 77, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Arista Care at Alameda Center – Perth Amboy New Jersey

Mary was born May 13 1936, in Millport, Alabama, daughter of the late Toby and Ella Bridges. She attended school in Millport, Alabama. Mary moved to the Bronx, New York in 1958 where she lived for 14 years, before moving to Perth Amboy, New Jersey in 1972,  where she lived until her death. She was a nurses aid for Roosevelt Hospital in Edison, New Jersey before retiring.

She was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie L.  Peterson and a son, Johnnie L. Peterson, Jr. Mary was the baby girl of the family and was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters. Oh what a time they all must be having, now that she has joined them in Heaven.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her 5 children. Mary (Allan) Williams of Houston, Texas, Terry Bridges of Plainfield, New Jersey, Pamela Petersen of Perth Amboy, Sophia Peterson of Woodbridge, New Jersey and Tawana Peterson of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, 15 Grandchildren and host of great grandchildren & great-great -grandchildren. A very special niece Lois Eaford; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Burial will be in the Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.

Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. - 11 a. m.
