Mary Ann Haney, 85, of Metuchen passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, in Edison, NJ. Born and raised in Perth Amboy to the late Nicholas Hudak and Martha Fekete, Mary Ann moved to Metuchen in 1966 where she raised her family.

After graduating Perth Amboy High School, Mary Ann went on to work for the Selective Service and Social Security Administrations and Morris Stores in Metuchen before she became a Secretary at Rutgers University for their Department of Academic Services.

Mary Ann loved to sew, make quilts and embroidery. She was a volunteer as a library aide, classroom parent and Girl Scout troop leader. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and vacationing with her family down in Long Beach Island.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, James D. Haney.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughters; Annemarie Burks and her husband, Wayne of Vass, North Carolina, Patricia Garner and her husband, Robert of Metuchen and Ellen McNeil and her husband, Daniel of Metuchen; her five grandchildren, Michael Burks, Catherine and Elizabeth Garner, Melanie and Casey McNeil; her sister, Margaret Paull of Metuchen, along with her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday August 24, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Thursday August 25, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue Metuchen, NJ 08840. A prayer service will be held on Thursday starting at 11:30 a.m. Cremation will be held privately.
