Mary Evelyn Hale passed away peacefully on September 23, 2017, at her home in Metuchen. She was neither sick nor suffering, but at the young age of 93, the Lord decided to take her home.She was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, on November 25, 1923, to Anton Marciniak and Caroline Starosciak.

She is predeceased by her husband, Lamont Hale; brother, Walter; and four sisters, including Claire Matthews with whom she had a special bond. Mary Evelyn was a Homemaker who enjoyed spending time reading, taking walks into town, solving crossword puzzles, and caring for her family.

Mary Evelyn is survived by her two children, John Hale (67) and June Hale (59), both of Metuchen, as well as her two grandchildren, Peter Hale Chansky and Erin Caroline Chansky who were "the light of her life." Mary Evelyn will be remembered by her family members as a selfless, kind spirit who was always putting others before herself.

Visitation will be this Wednesday from 2-3pm at the Flynn and Son/Koen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840. Cremation will be private.
