Obituary of Mary T. Filik


Mary T. Filik, 87, of Fords, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Filik was born in Newark to the late John and Ellen Coffey and had lived the last sixty years in Fords. Mary was the best mom in the world and a cheerleader at St. Michael's High School in Newark. She was always there for everyone. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Filik was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2004, a son Eugene in 1990, a grandson CJ in 2015, two brothers and two sisters. Mary is survived by her three sons, Paul Filik and his wife Karen of Milford, DE, Joseph Filik of Fords, and Mark Filik of Fords, her two daughters, Mary Ellen Crowe of Matawan, and Theresa Benni of Matawan, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held Monday 10:00 am at Our Lady Of Hungary Cemetery in Fords. Arrangements entrusted to Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords.
