Mary Catapane (nee: Makoviecki), 89, of Perth Amboy passed away on December 13, 2011, at the Woodlands Center in Plainfield. She was born on March 20, 1922, in Perth Amboy and was a life-long resident. She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1940 and a former member of Holy Spirit Church, Perth Amboy. She was a bus aide for the Perth Amboy Board of Education for a number of years.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1980; sister, Kaythryn Horvath and brothers, John and Edward Makoviecki. Surviving are sons Louis of Perth Amboy and Martin of Forked River; daughters Elaine Catapane of MA, and Ruth Haiduk and husband Anthony of Perth Amboy; grandchildren, Lisa Hayes and her husband Kevin and Jennifer Ramirez and her husband Felix; three special great-grandchildren that put a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye: Adriana and Lucas Ramirez and Matthew Hayes. Special sisters-in-law, Rose Makoviecki of NY and Helen Catapane of Avenel; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff at Woodlands Center for their expert care given to Mary.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, with interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery.
