She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Barna in 1978; her daughter, Helen Melnick, in 2009; her son-in-law, Robert Melnick, in 2010; her brother, Andrew Nagy, Sr.; and her niece, Mary Smith and her husband, William.

Mary is survived by her grandsons, Eric (Carol) and David (Susanne) Melnick; her great-grandchildren: Justin, Alexa, Nikki, and Zack; and her nephews, Andrew Nagy, Jr. and his wife, Shirley; Stephen Nagy and his wife, Margie; her nieces, Helen Szijarto and her husband, John; Betty Zullo and her husband, Neil; and Barbara Newman and her husband, Bert.

Mary's life revolved around her family and her extended family at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. She was a gentle, gracious woman with strong spirit. She shared her love with her family every moment of her life.

A Funeral Liturgy is scheduled for Monday, March 19 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords, NJ. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ.
