Martin Pfister, 86, of Edison died on May 17,2012, at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born February 6,1926,in Fords, he resided in Edison for the last 56 years. Prior to Edison, he lived in Perth Amboy. Martin was retired from the Operating Engineers Union #825. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army. He enjoyed boating and was a fan of the NY Yankees.
Martin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne (nee Basarab) Pfister of Edison; his sons, Martin Pfister and his wife Maria of Arlington Heights, IL and Steven Pfister of Jamesburg, NJ; his daughters, Karin Langan and her husband William of Helmetta, NJ and Susan Leisentritt and her husband Ken of Helmetta, NJ; and his six grandchildren: Matthew Pfister, Brett Langan, Jamie Langan, Monica Hinchey, Maria Sullivan, and Andrew Bradley.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Anne and Madeline.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 21, 2012, from 9:30-10:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. A service of Devine Liturgy will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
