Martha Valera 84, passed away peacefully Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Alameda Care Center in Perth Amboy. She was born March 14, 1928 in Cardenas, Cuba, is formerly of Edison residing in Perth Amboy for the past three years.

Martha was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a self employed dress maker and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth.

Martha was predeceased by her son Jose Rodriguez on June 11,2009.
She is survived by her sisters Myrta Knox, Miriam Delgado, and Dolly Laurr, her daughter-in-law Maria Rodriguez of Edison, three grandchildren Maria Elster of Metuchen; Michael Rodriguez of Edison and Joseph Rodriguez of MA., and four great grandchildren Bella, Miles, Emme, and Xavier.

A memorial service will be on Thursday May 10, 2012 at 7 pm at the Flynn and Son/ Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen,. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm
