Maritza Avilleira, 65, of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her daughters home in Edison with the love of her family around her.  She was born in Cruces, Cuba, and had been a resident of Perth Amboy since 1969.  She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, with the Class of 1978.  She retired in 2019 as a Judicial Secretary for the Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, where she had worked for 6 years.  Prior to that she had been employed as a legal secretary for the Spevack Law Firm in Woodbridge for 19 years.

Maritza was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Gustavo and Lilia Gonzalez and her parents, Nelson & Zaire Avilleira.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Damaris Ledesma and her husband, Jose, of Edison and her beloved son, Isidro Hernandez, Jr. and his wife, Veronica, of Charlotte, NC; her five dear grandchildren: Josiah, Eliana, Lily, Logan, and Hailey; her two brothers, Eric Avilleira and his wife, Holly, and Luis Avilleira and his wife, Sarah, of Fords; and her sister, Miriam Velez, and her husband, Angel, of Perth Amboy.  Also surviving are four nieces and three nephews.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ.  08863.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning, July 1, 2024 at 10:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, NJ.
