Private services were held for Mario Zayas, 79 of Perth Amboy who died on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.

Born in Puerto Rico, he had been a longtime resident of Perth Amboy.  He was a retired carpenter, and plumber, after working several years with Neil Gursky Plumbing of Perth Amboy.

He was predeceased by his son, Samuel Zayas.

He leaves behind, his beloved wife, Carmen Vargas Zayas; his daughters: Nancy Zayas, Jeanette Zayas, Erica Perez and Jessica Marie Zayas; his sons, Edward Hagensen and Mario Zayas, Jr.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters and four brothers.

Burial was in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
