August 20, 1943 – May 23, 2021
Mario Soto, 77, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 23, 2021. Born in Puerto Rico, he had lived in Monroe Township for 6 years, and was formerly of Edison. Mario was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus #9199. He was a Customer Service Representative for PSE&G, Cranford, for 25 plus years, retiring in 1993. Mario was a retired US Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He was predeceased by his parents, Milagros and Santos; his sisters: Josephine, Carmen, Margie and Lucy; and his brothers, Herminio, and Felix.
Mario is survived by his wife, Renee Soto, of 51 years; his son, Stephen Soto and his wife, Susan; his two daughters, Stacie Mayti and her husband, John, and Amie Soto and her husband, John Reilly; his six grandchildren: Matthew Soto, Stephen Soto, Brittney Soto, Austin Vernuccio, Hunter Mayti and Hailey Matyi; his four sisters: Isabel, Maria, Gloria and Lydia; and many nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 4-8 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 10:30 AM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
