Rapetti

Mario "Lefty" Rapetti, 86, of Hopelawn, departed this earthly life on September 11, 2023.
He was born on July 25, 1937, in Bronx, NY to the late Joseph and Anna Rapetti. Mario was a graduate of St. Mary's High School of South Amboy, NJ in 1955 and served in the Air Force from 1958 – 1963.
Mario was a Safety Officer for E.I. du Pont in Parlin, NJ for 36 years before his retirement in 1991, and he was a Fire Chief for the State of NJ.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society and a Eucharistic Minister at Good Shepherd Parish, Holy Rosary Church. Mario was also a part of the AmVets of Lyndhurst, NJ, and the Jersey Cruisers. He also enjoyed coaching Little League baseball in Hopelawn, NJ.
Mario was predeceased by his son, Dr. Joseph Rapetti, in 2011, his late sister, Barabara Zyskowski, and his sister-in-law, Margaret Kish.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne I. Rapetti (n. Kish), his son, Frank Rapetti, and his wife Sharon, and his beloved grandchildren: Frank, Alex, Nicholas, and Christian.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 00863. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Liturgy at Good Shepherd Parish in Hopelawn, NJ at 10:00 a.m. An entombment will follow at St. James Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St. Jude's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospital.
