Marie Lyons, 68, of Edison, passed away on July 23, 2015, in JFK Medical Center.  She was born in Long Branch, NJ, on December 21, 1946.  Marie was raised in West Long Branch and had resided in Edison since 1979.  She worked for many years as a Clerk at Ft. Monmouth and retired from JC Penney as a Sales Rep.  She attend the Star of the Sea School (Lyceum) and was a member of the first graduating class of Shore Regional High School in 1964.  Marie attended the Katherine Gibbs School of Business in NYC.  She loved animals and was very proud of her Irish heritage.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.  Marie was very compassionate; she had a large loving family and a vast array of friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Thomas Lyons, in 2011 and her parents, Anthony and Marie Hampton.

Marie is survived by her brother, Jeremiah Hampton, and his wife, Marlaine, of West Long Branch.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, from 3-7 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.  Funeral services will begin Monday, July 27, at 8:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords.  Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery.
