Maria Luisa Vázquez (nee Irizarry), 89, of Monroe Township, entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2020 at the Parker at River Road Nursing Care Residence in Piscataway.  She was born in Lares, Puerto Rico, and lived in Bayamon and Ponce for many years.  She also resided in Fords, NJ, New York City, Florida, and lastly in Monroe Township, NJ.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved gardening, growing beautiful orchids, music, dancing, traveling, going to Atlantic City, and was a great cook.

Maria was predeceased by her husband Augusto Luis Vázquez in 1997, her siblings Irene Irizarry, Marcelo Irizarry, Alma Esteva, Elisa Pagán, and Felipe Irizarry, and is survived by her brother Juan Irizarry.

She will be deeply missed by her children Sonia Robell and her husband Robert of Edison, NJ, Eduardo Vázquez and his wife Lisa of Howell, NJ, and Miriam Taggart and her husband Bill of Montgomery, NJ. Her grandchildren Josh Vazquez, Jesse Vazquez, Nicole Nagle, William Taggart, Matthew Taggart, Cristina Tilson, Victoria Robell, Cristalyn Fennell, and Jason Williams, and their spouses and partners; as well as her great grandchildren Mason Nagle, Cecilia Williams, Wesley Williams, Briannah Fennell, Christian Fennell and Rosalie Williams will all miss her very much.

All services are private due to the COVID-19 restrictions. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords.
