Maria M. Salazar, 80, of Perth Amboy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 11, 2025. She was born on March 1, 1945, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. Maria was a Certified Nurse Assistant at Roosevelt Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of the Olive St. Seniors in Perth Amboy. She enjoyed time with family and friends, going to the Casinos, playing bingo, sewing and lit up when spending time with her great grandchildren. She loved assisting her granddaughter with activities and events at Rose M. Lopez and the Dual Language School parent teacher organizations.

Maria was one of fifteen children, she is survived by a daughter, Yolanda Giraud, of Perth Amboy; a granddaughter, Tinamarie Giraud; a grandson, Jose L. Cosme; three great grandchildren: Dariusz, Eric, and Alicia; two sisters, Celsa Marquez, and Carmen Marquez, both of Perth Amboy.

Cremation is private. A Memorial Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Alpine cemetery.
