Maria Susana Medrano, 87, of Fords passed away at J.F.K. Medical Center, Edison on October 20, 2023.  Maria was born in Lima Peru on May 25, 1936, to Maximo and Estela Medrano.  She was employed by Marriott Hotels in Edison, working in their Linen Department.

Maria "Susy" was a kind and gentle soul.  Those who knew her would describe her as a peaceful lady that lived with gratitude and dignity.  She loved baking, telling stories of her career, and telling jokes.  Christmas, her favorite holiday, would always be enjoyed with her homemade tamales and pastel de verduras.  She always had something handy to gift someone, whether it be a piece of candy or a small keepsake.  She will be remembered for her generosity, graciousness, and loving demeanor.

Maria was predeceased by her parents, Maximo and Estela Medrano and brothers Pedro and Felix Medrano.

She is survived by her daughter, Rafaela Mera and son-in-law Alfredo; her grandchildren: Carlos Alfredo Mera, Luis Alfredo Mera, and David Alfredo Mera; her great-grandchildren: Isabella, Leonardo, and Emma and her sisters, Carmen Adela Medrano and Rafaela Pineda.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, with a Catholic Prayer Service to be held at 3:00 PM.  Cremation will follow privately.
