Maria A. Cunha, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 2, 2023.

Born in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, she was one of four children of the late Antonio and Maria Figueiredo. She and her husband Rafael immigrated to the United States in 1955. They eventually made  their home in Spotswood, and resided there for the past 40 years.  Maria was employed on the assembly line at Revlon in Edison for 25 years, retiring in 1995.

In addition to her parents, Maria is preceded in death by her husband Rafael in 1972, and her sister Rosa in 2006.   She is survived by her children: Joseph Cunha, Lina Shanley, her husband Edward; her granddaughter Amanda Souza, her husband Kevin, and great grandchildren Lucas and Camila. She is also survived by her two brothers: Jose Figueiredo, his wife Isaura, Manuel Figueiredo, and wife Maria; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her angel of a caregiver, Stephanie Porter, who made mom laugh and took such loving care of mom.

Family and friends are invited to gather at 10:30am on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords for the procession to Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, New Brunswick Ave at Oregon Ave in Fords where graveside services will take place at 11:00am.
