Margaret Baloga Tyrrell passed away at home on October 21, 2016, at the age of 91. She was born in Old Forge, PA, to Nicholas and Mary Baloga and was one of ten children. The family moved to Sewaren when she was five weeks old which is where she grew up and lived in the Woodbridge area most of her life.
Margaret was a devout Catholic and was a regular communicant at St. James RC Church in Woodbridge. In her earlier years prior to her marriage, Margaret was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Perth Amboy. There she was active in Bingo, and the Sodality, becoming Secretary of the Union Sodality Organization.
Margaret attended the Woodbridge Township Schools, graduating from Woodbridge High School Class of 1942. After graduating, Margaret worked at the Raritan Arsenal in Edison for a short time. She later joined the NJ Division of Unemployment office in Perth Amboy and spent 39 years there before retiring in 1984. While working there, she met the love of her life George Tyrrell, and they were married in 1962. The happy couple spent 43 wonderful years together enjoying many activities such as traveling, boating, and going to Atlantic City.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Mary Baloga; her dear husband, George, in 2005; and all of her siblings, Charles, John, George, and Michael Baloga, Mary Leitner, Julia Vereb, Sue Ramet, Ann Olsen, and Helen Harth. She is survived by her step-daughters, Marie Reade, Jean Conroy, and Joan Chatel and her husband Paul; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was especially grateful for the care and attention she received in her later years from her niece, Patricia Sesnowich and her family, as well as her personal nurse and caregiver, Mrs. Linda Ozziddi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at St. James Church. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm
