Obituary

"Margaret " Peggy" Milgram, nee Healy, age 93, was born to Mary McDonough Healy and Michael Healy in Trenton, NJ. The eldest of five children,

Peggy was predeceased by Eugene "Gene" Milgram, her husband of 62 years, her parents, her sisters Claire Spera, Ann Forconi and Frances Regina Healy, nephew Samuel Spera and her son-in-law Kenneth Bossong.

She is survived by her daughter Regina Ann Bossong, baby brother Mark Healy and sister-in law Patricia, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Peggy is also survived by her loving, wonderful Metuchen neighbors and friends from the many facets of her life.

Raised in Trenton, NJ, Peggy graduated Cathedral High School and trained at St. Francis of Assisi Hospital as a registered nurse.

On a trip to a Poconos resort in 1953, Peggy met the man she would marry in 1955. Gene (of Brooklyn, NY) and Peggy settled in Metuchen, NJ, a town half way between their respective families, on the Pennsylvania Railroad train line. They were Metuchen, NJ residents the remainder of their lives.

Peggy was a communicant at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen for 67 years. She became a Eucharistic Minister as well, volunteering at JF Kennedy Medical Center. She was a member of various Catholic organizations, all of which her daughter cannot recall.

Peggy worked at St. Francis Hospital, Pennsylvania Railroad, Indiana General, L'Oreal, and retired from Anheiser-Busch plying her nursing profession.

Peggy enjoyed her yearly family vacations in beautiful, scenic Maine, was an avid walker, and at one time a Brownies leader. Peggy was known for her smile, her laugh, her gentle nature, her faith, and her extraordinary morality. Her sense of values and adherence to rules caused Peggy to refuse lunch with Albert Einstein.

She died at home, in her own bed with her daughter at her side.

Peggy didn't want "a fuss" for her final plans. The arrangements are simple: a memorial Mass and burial of cremains with her late husband Gene at Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen, NJ after COVID passes. The Mass and burial are tentatively planned for Spring 2023. In lieu of flowers, etc., mourners are asked to donate to their favorite charity.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave. Metuchen, NJ 08840.
