Margaret (Matyi) Peterson, 92, of Perth Amboy, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Haven Hospice at JFK Hospital, Edison. Born in Perth Amboy, Marge was a life-long resident until moving temporarily to Edison 2 ½ years ago.

Marge was a communicant of the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Spirit Church, Perth Amboy and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Perth Amboy HS, Class of 1938. Marge liked to take pictures, dance, sew, travel, visit yard sales, cook, and eat. She loved the Jersey Shore and Seaside Park.

Marge was predeceased by her husband, Frederick J. Peterson (2003); her son, Michael R. Peterson (1987); a brother, Lou Maty; and sisters, Elizabeth Meszaros and Helen May.

She is survived by two sons, Fredric C. Peterson and daughter-in-law, Patricia, of CA and James J. Peterson and daughter-in-law, Linda, of Woodbridge; four grandchildren: Lori, Jill and her husband Robert, Megan, and Kelly; and four great-grandchildren: Michael, Thaddeus, Cedric, and Clara.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 9 AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass at Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Spirit Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Perth Amboy Volunteer Fire Department.
