Margaret
Hagan
August 27, 1942 – May 27, 2026
Margaret Hagan, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Born on August 27, 1942, in Brosna, Ireland, Margaret grew up as part of a big, loving, tight-knit family whose closeness shaped everything she would become. In 1967, she made the journey to Brooklyn, and it was there that her story in America began. She soon met and married the love of her life, John, and together they built their home in Fords, New Jersey — a place she would make her own for decades to come.
In Fords, Margaret became a true pillar of the community. She opened her heart and her home, running a daycare center that welcomed children from across the neighborhood.
A natural caretaker, Margaret deeply loved her entire family. She cherished nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She was a fun, loving, and hands-on grandma who made it a priority to be an integral part of their lives. Her perfect days were filled with the simple joys she loved most: attending daily Mass at Our Lady of Peace, catching up over breakfast with her friends afterward, running around after her grandchildren and cheering on the Yankees.
Margaret is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Hagan (2020); her parents, Michael and Ellen Daly; and her siblings, Mary O’Brien, Jerry Daly, and Michael Daly.
Surviving Margaret are her two cherished daughters, Kerry Maguire and her husband Robert of Fair Haven, NJ, and Debbie Fietz and her husband David of Summit, NJ; her five adored grandchildren, Jack, Matthew, Addison, Charlotte, and Harrison; and her beloved brother, John Daly.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, followed by an 11:30 AM Funeral Mass next door at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords, NJ. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ.
