Margaret "Coo" E. (nee: Nimetz) Sawicz, 92, of Sayreville, NJ, passed peacefully at her home, with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Born in Perth Amboy, she had resided in Sayreville for the last 58 years.
She retired years ago, as an office worker for Dana Transport in Avenel. Prior to that, she was employed with RCA in Woodbridge, as a tube maker and Blonder Tongue Labs in Old Bridge in the same capacity.
She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church of Perth Amboy, and a member of their Social Club and helped cook along side her husband for many functions at the church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Raymond J Sawicz, Sr. , who died in January of this year, her parents; George and Mary Nimetz, and her siblings Charlie Nimetz, George Nimetz, Michael Nimetz, Ann Giles, Mary Morvay, Rose Sabo, Lillian Sadowski and Dorothy Orender
Margaret was the most caring, loving, selfless wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was truly loved and will be missed by many.
She leaves behind, her beloved daughter, Ann Marie McCaffrey and her son, Raymond Sawicz Jr, and her daughter in law Roberta Sawicz, her 5 grandchildren, Tabitha and Clinton Sawicz, Diane Natusch, Kimberly Kuzma, and Robert Rathbun, and her 6 great-grandchildren, Tiffany Barnes- Borland, Bianca Petersen, Bailey Natusch, Richard Kuzma III, Scarlet and June Sawicz, along with her two siblings, Daniel Nimetz and Darlene Kondas, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM, with a Parastas Service at 7 PM at, the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral services will begin with a Panachida service on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 9 AM from the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, followed by a 10 AM Service of Divine Liturgy at St John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy.
Interment, will follow in St John's Orthodox Church Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: St John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 145 Broad Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
