Obituary

Marcia "Sue" Haines, 79, of Edison, NJ, died unexpectedly  Saturday, October 29, 2022 at home.

Sue was born in Davis Oklahoma to the late Gladys Sims and Maurice Priester. She often spoke fondly of her childhood, of her sister, her many aunts and her cousins.

After raising two daughters, she worked at a few different jobs. There were two she enjoyed very much:  One with the Albuquerque (NM) Special Investigations as a administrative assistant, the other at Brownbilt Shoes and Westernwear in Socorro, NM.

Sue was born in Oklahoma, moved to New Mexico for most of her life, then joined her daughter in New Jersey in recent years. No matter where she moved she made friends whom she stayed in touch with, cherishing every call, text and card shared. Her many interests included the dogs, cats, and horses she owned over the years, working jigsaw puzzles (1000 pieces were the most fun) and watching sports. She stayed a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Mets and the Oklahoma Sooners, no matter the season outcomes.

Sue is predeceased by her daughter Laura Sue Haines and her brother-in-law Eddie Newhart. She is Survived by her daughter Cynthia Reynolds and son-in-law Al, of Metuchen, NJ; her sister Bobbi Newhart, of Simi Valley, CA; her former husband Ben Haines and his wife, Sandra of Mesilla, NM; and brothers-in-law, Edward Haines and his wife, Nyeta, of Las Cruces, NM; and Brandon Haines of Tieras, NM; her beloved dog Timmy; along with many other extended relatives and close friends.

Cremation will be held privately. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donation may be made to Sue's favorite charities: Wounded Warrior's, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675; or the Hastings Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 68 Hastings, OK 73548; or the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929 Washington, DC 20090.

Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
