Magda R. Padilla, 63, of Piscataway, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico she was one of four children to the late Ruben Padilla and Nelida Morales.  Magda was a 1978 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, and attended the Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing in addition to Middlesex County College.  She used her knowledge of medicine and desire to care for her patients at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy for over the last thirty years.  Her last position was as Unit Assistant for the Emergency Room.

It was at the hospital that she met her long-time companion, Frances Blom. They were together for many years before marrying about five years ago.  Magda adored her cats. She was also loved to have fresh plants and flowers around. Anyone who was a visitor to their home would also notice she was an avid collector of lighthouses and many things nautical.  Magda also treasured time she had to travel. Above all, she cherished the time she spent cooking for her family; being able to share a nice wine and a meal with them.

In addition to her parents, Magda was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Frances Blom who passed only six short months ago this past November.  She is survived by her siblings: Mildred Padilla, her husband Rudy Morales, Meredith Colon, her husband Orlando Colon, and Rubin Padilla and his wife Hillary Gonzalez.  She also leaves behind her dear nieces and nephews Veronica, Camille, Rubin, Anthony, Heather, Edward, and Michael.  Most of all she leaves behind her dear cat fur babies who she loved so very much: Lola, Tony, and Jack.

Friends may call at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where services will take place on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:30 am.  Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, NJ.
