Joan (nee Linnett) Bauer 83, of Edison, died Tuesday April 12, 2022, at Meadow Lakes Care Center in East Windsor.

Born in Tottenville, Staten Island to the late Wallace Linette and Myrtle Cox. Joan worked for Newark Varityping in Newark for many years, she then worked as a secretary for the Rutgers Foundation before her retirement. Joan was very involved with Grace Reformed Church in Edison, whether it was being a part of the consistory or coordinating the garage sales, she was more than happy to help. Her and her late husband, Bill were avid boaters and in her free time she enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family. Joan always made time to talk to anyone in need and did her best to put a smile on their face.

Joan is predeceased by her husband of 29 years, William "Bill" Bauer (2000); and her sons, William D. Bauer and Daniel T. Bauer. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Nastus and husband, Ronald, Cindy Brandon and husband, David; her sister, Ruth Solinger; her grandchildren, Philip Maiorana, Michele (nee Maiorana) Turton, Michael Brandon, Christopher Brandon, Daniel Bauer, and Shelby Bauer; six great-grandchildren; her niece Cheryl Solinger-Graef, nephew Kevin Solinger, and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue Metuchen, NJ 08840. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, family and friends are welcome to gather in the funeral home starting at 9 a.m. Burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, 1900 Galloping Hill Rd, Kenilworth, NJ 07033 following the service.
