Luz Neida Scheman, 92, of the Bronx, New York, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at ArchCare Providence Rest Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in the Bronx.  Born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, she resided in the Bronx for the past 56 years.  Luz was an Employment Interviewer for the New York State Department of Labor for over 40 years.  Prior to her employment with the New York DOL, Luz was employed by the City of New York.  She was a graduate of Pace University.

Luz was predeceased by her husband, Harry Scheman; her parents, Maria (nee Arroyo) and Ebaristo Pacheco; and her grandson, Erich Scheman.

She is survived by her four children: Margaret Scheman; Mary Scheman-Stella and her husband, Jose Stella; Peter Scheman; and Harry Scheman; her beloved granddaughter, Corissa and her three great-grandchildren:  Sarah, Shelby, and Seth.  Luz was one of 14 children and the last to survive.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery.
