Luis Miranda, 77, of Perth Amboy, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Hackensack Meridian / JFK Medical Center.

Born on January 17, 1947, in New York, New York, Luis was also a resident of Jersey City before moving to Perth Amboy, where he lived for 30 years. Luis was a high school graduate and he worked as a forklift operator for Englert Corporation right in town in Perth Amboy for 10 years. Additionally, Luis was a member of the Renovation House, located in Perth Amboy. He dedicated his life to Jesus and mentored young men at the Renovation House.

A lover of salsa, Afro Cuban, jazz, and the blues, Luis enjoyed listening to music like Nina Simone and Miles Davis. He also loved the Brooklyn Dodgers, and was a fanatic over Roberto Clemente. Luis was a proud Puerto Rican who collected eagles, and he would never turn down a plate of food or dessert.

Luis was predeceased by his father Victor, his mother Iraida, and his brothers Oscar, Richard, and Enrique.

He is survived by his significant other, Jacquelyn Williams, of Edison, NJ; his son Efriam Miranda, of California; his daughter Davina Pena, of Ocean, NJ; and his two grandchildren, Jasher and Trebor. Luis will be greatly missed by his family and friends that had the pleasure of loving and knowing him.

A memorial service with fellowship to follow will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Abundant Life Worship Center, 224 High Street Perth Amboy, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Luis' name to Renovation House, 200 Jefferson St. Perth Amboy, NJ.
