Carmen Lugo,79, formerly of Perth Amboy died March 28, 2010, died at her home in Scotch Plains.
Born March 16, 1931 in Puerto Rico, Mrs. Lugo has resided in Scotch Plains for the past 5 years and spent the prior 55 years in Perth Amboy.
She was a seamstress for 55 years retiring in 1995 from JC Penny at
Woodbridge Mall. Mrs. Lugo was a Communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Perth Amboy, a member of the Holy Rosary Society and loved to volunteer at church.
Mrs. Lugo is predeceased by her late parents, Candelario Marquez and Matilde Morales; her late husband,Ramon, in 2000;and her late son, Raymond, in 1992. Surviving family members include her daughter, Gladys Sheppard and her husband Stephen, of Scotch Plains; 6 grandchildren, Shane and Summer Sheppard; Raymond Luis, Raymond Antonio, Abraham and Andrew Lugo; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Santos Marquez, Candido Marquez, Oscar Marquez and Norberto Gonzales; 5 sisters, Milagros Contance, Maria Salazar, Celida Sierra, Carmen L. Marquez and Esther Marquez.
Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Monday, April 5, 2010, from FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy followed by 10 A.M. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perth Amboy. Interment to follow at Alpine Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
