Lucy A. Dalton, 99, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2022 in Edison, NJ.
Lucy was born October 11, 1922, in Staten Island, NY and lived in Perth Amboy, before residing in Woodbridge.
Prior her retirement 1982, she had been employed for 24 years for the Perth Amboy Board of Education as one of the first teacher's aides for Special Ed. children at Roosevelt Park. She was an active volunteer for the Cerebral Palsy, and the March of Dimes, and a past member of the Democratic Club in Perth Amboy. She is a past communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward in 1992, and by her daughter, Maureen Dalton Stephenson in 2006, one brother, Andrew (Sonny) Pisano and six sisters, Fannie Mayhew, Jean Roccanova, Tess Puntillo, Ann Barbaza, Pauline Carfero and Margie Nelson.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Tarnowski and her husband Ronald, of Fords, her sister, Constance Bussi of North Carolina, her grandchildren, Lisa and Mark Dufur, Jeffrey Tarnowski, Cynthia and Anthony Burzachiello, Deana and Christopher Babula, her 9 great-grandhildren, her 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lucy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching her N.Y. Yankees. She was truly loved and will be truly missed very much by her family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 4-8 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM from the Flynn & Sons in Fords followed by a Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords at 10:30 AM.
Interment services will take place at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital (wwwstjude.org.) or to the UN Ukraine Emergency-UNICEF USA (UNICEFUSA org/ABC).
