Louise Dewitt Toth, "Sis," died June 28, 2012, at the age of 87 in Alexandria, VA.
Louise was born in Wenatchee, Washington, on February 18, 1924. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords, NJ. Prior to moving to Alexandria, VA, 18 years ago, Louise lived in Edison for 60 years.
Louise graduated from East Wenatchee High School and for 2 years attended University of Seattle. She left college to help with the WWII efforts.
Louise was past Vice President for the Ladies Auxiliary at JFK Medical Center. Along with her late husband, heart/thoracic surgeon William Toth, MD, they helped found the Medical Center and were major fund-raisers for the hospital. Louise was also active at Roosevelt Hospital and Perth Amboy General Hospital.
Louise had a unique talent for making Hungarian dishes and enjoyed baking cakes, pies and pastries. She traveled extensively to Hungary and Austria being two of her favorite countries to visit.
Louise was pre-deceased by her husband, William Toth, MD, in 1975 and her son William "Skip" Toth, in 2000. She is survived by her son, James Allen Toth and his wife Deborah Linvill Toth from West Chester, PA, and two grandsons: Kevin William Toth and his wife Stephanie Jean Toth from Folsom, PA and Gregory James Toth from Binghamton, NY. Louise has a step-sister, Betty Nortress, and several nieces from Washington State.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ.
