Obituary

Louise Sutch, 88, of Fords, passed away on June 24, 2026, at the Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. She was born in Hazelton, PA, to the Otto and Isabella Corra on February 5, 1938. Louise worked in retail sales most of her life, working at Lerner’s Clothing Store and Bamberger’s Department Store at Menlo Park Mall, Edison.

Louise was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church and was a former Girl Scout Leader. She was also a member of the Fords Woman’s Club and was a past honoree of the “Woman of the Year” award.

Louise played on her high school baseball team and earned a letter for her school jacket. She loved horses and as a teenager volunteered to brush them and clean the stables. It was when she moved from Pennsylvania to Avon by the Sea that she fell in love with the beach and being near the ocean. She enjoyed going out on their boat, the SS Sweet Lou; they even brought along Max the dog.

Known as NeNe since she became a grandmother, she loved being surrounded by her family. She was the definition of a Sweetheart. She always made everyone feel special and happy. She had a smile that lit up the room and a very contagious laugh. If anyone deserves to be in Heaven, it is her. Louise will be forever missed by everyone.

Louise was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Isabella Corra, and her two dogs, Max and Sugar.

Louise is survived by her husband, Richard, to whom she was married to for 67 years; her two daughters, Lori Sasso and her husband, Robert Meyer, and Patricia Zega and her husband, Robert; a son, Richard Sutch and his wife, LoriAnn; seven grandchildren: Samantha, Andrew, Francis, Rebecca, Veronica, John and Robert Jr.; four great-grandchildren: Joseph, Owen, Shea, and Rosie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords followed by a 1:00 PM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Fords.
