February 2, 1938 – December 23, 2025
Louis R Rizzolo, 87, of Colonia, NJ, passed suddenly at his home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was born and raised in First Ward Section of Newark, and was formerly of Iselin before moving to Colonia, 53 years ago. He was a graduate of Barringer High School in Newark with the "Class of 1955." He retired in 2007 with over 48 years of a long and distinguished career with the United States Postal Service. Serving over the past 20 years as Executive Plant Manager of the D.V.D. Processing Distribution Center, in Kearny, NJ. He was a communicant of St Cecelia's RC Church in Iselin.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Lorraine Rizzolo, who died on December 7, 2011; and his parents, Alphonse and Marie Rizzolo.
Louis leaves behind his three beloved children: Louis T. Rizzolo and his wife, Lisa, of Colonia; Pamela Rincavage of Tinton Falls; and Michael Rizzolo and Maryellen of Colonia; his seven grandchildren: Louis M (& Katrina) Rizzolo; Stephanie Rizzolo; Jessica Sastri (& Jackson); Michael Rizzolo (& Catherine); Danny Rizzolo (& Alexa); Jeff Rincavage (& Michele); and Jillian Rincavage. His great-grandchildren: Bryleigh Rizzolo, Louis Rizzolo, Vivionna Durham, Kaden Durham, Harplynn Durham, Madelyn Rincavage, Zachary Rincavage, Jack Rizzolo, Lennon Sastri, and Everest Sastri. His brother, Anthony Rizzolo and sister, Patricia Emmer. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
His Family was everything to him and he had a large network of friends.
He was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan, and loved to play golf, especially with his family. He loved music and played the piano for family whenever requested. His leadership, warm and upbeat personality, and sincere interest for anyone who knew him will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 1 pm to 4 pm, at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. from the Funeral Home, followed by a 10:15 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Cecelia's RC Church in Iselin. Entombment will follow in St Gertrude Cemetery and Mausoleum Colonia.
