Linda A.
Kuchie
November 4, 1953 – August 2, 2025
Linda A. Kuchie (Amaczi), 71, of Woodbridge, NJ, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at HMH JFK University Medical Center in Edison, NJ. She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, to the late John W. and Helen A. Amaczi, resided in Fords, NJ, for much of her childhood, and settled in Woodbridge, NJ, for the remainder of her life. Linda graduated from Woodbridge High School in the Class of 1971 and worked at Personal Products for many years until she became a mother and, later in life, became a paralegal for Evelyn M. Hartmann, Esq., for 27 years.
Linda married her high school sweetheart, the late Edward F. Kuchie, who had the same zest for life and adventurous spirit, making them perfectly suited for one another. They would often go on spontaneous road trips to see the sights and explore new places, sometimes with a planned destination or often just winding up wherever the open road took them. They had four wonderful children together.
Linda was warm, sweet, and friendly, with a laugh that was infectious and a smile that could light up a room. She was so smart, always honest, and a naturally good, kind-hearted person. She fiercely loved her children, always supporting and encouraging them to do everything they set their heart on. She was a dedicated grandma. All nine of her grandchildren were so very important to her, and she always showed up to their recitals, shows, and sporting events whenever she could. She was always kind, loving, generous, and creative. She had many hobbies.
As a child, Linda played the accordion, a hidden talent, at the encouragement of her Hungarian parents. She had a way with words and wrote poetry. She was quite talented in her ability to draw. She could often be found at her best friend's house preparing for weekend craft shows until late hours in the evening. She was a fantastic gardener with a green thumb able to make vegetable gardens and flowers flourish. She could be found on the dance floor, swing dancing the jitterbug with family and friends. She often cooked and baked traditional Hungarian meals and desserts to share with her family and friends at gatherings. Linda was an avid television and movie lover. She would often watch anything from Disney and Hallmark movies to period pieces, such as Downton Abbey and the Gilded Age. She loved to laugh at a good comedy or sit on the edge of her seat while watching a suspense, mystery, or action film. She would often call her family to give recommendations to add to their lists of things to watch because it was "a really good one!" Linda enjoyed music and had a fondness for musicals in theater. She loved board games, and her absolute favorite was Scrabble; she was a fierce competitor, often rising to the challenge and winning. She taught all of her grandchildren at an early age to play the card game Go Fish, teaching them to play fair, not cheat, and lose with grace.
Linda was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 6090 in Fords, NJ, for many years. From 1992 to 1993, she was the District 8 President of Middlesex County. She was involved with the V.F.W. Conventions in Wildwood, NJ, for many years, as well as the national convention in Indianapolis, IN. She later became a Life Member of Avenel, NJ, 7164 Auxiliary.
Linda was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of the St. James Parish in Woodbridge, NJ. She attended the same mass every Sunday and sat in the same pew every week so that her family and church friends always knew where to find her.
In 2022, Linda was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Edward F. Kuchie. She is survived by her children Edward J. Kuchie and his wife Nicole of Hamilton, NJ, Lisa A. Conklin and her husband Gregory of Millstone Township, NJ, Jennifer H. Harrison and her husband Christopher of Manalapan, NJ, Michael D. Kuchie and his wife Kelly of Toms River, NJ; her nine grandchildren Isabelle, Kathryn, Liana, Olivia, Benjamin, Penelope, Joseph, Charlotte, and Emma; her sister Janice Vetter and her husband Bill of Bath, PA; her nephew and nieces; and, many great nieces and nephews.
