Obituary

Lina T. Cerulo entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2015. She was born, Michelina Theresa Nicastro on October 4, 1922 in Salerno, Italy. She came to the United States in 1929 as a brave young immigrant and settled with her family in Perth Amboy, NJ, where she spent most of her life. She was married to Albert J. Cerulo in October of 1948.

Mrs Cerulo attended the Number 7 Grammar School in Perth Amboy and graduated from Perth Amboy High School. She was employed at the S.R. Kelsey Real Estate and Insurance Agency the National State Bank, and later worked with her husband at the Albert J. Cerulo Real Estate and Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Most Holy Rosary Church, of the Good Shepherd Parish and was active in the parish school PTA and the senior citizens club. She also volunteered at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. She was an excellent cook and had a gift for interior design. She was devoted to her family and provided long term caretaking for both her husband and her beloved sister, Carmela. She loved animals as well- especially her parakeet "Chico" and her dog "Perry."

Mrs. Cerulo is preceded in death by her husband, Albert and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two children, Albert J. Cerulo, Jr. and Karen A. Cerulo, two grandchildren, Albert and Christopher, a granddaughter–in-law Erin, and a great grandson, Riley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday morning, December 19, 2015, from 8:30 a.m.to 9:30 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at, Most Holy Rosary Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, 625 Florida Grove Rd, Hopelawn, NJ 08861. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
