Leonard James Jevic, 86, of Edison, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2015, at home. He was born September 8, 1928, in Barnesboro, PA. He resided in Edison for 52 years. He was a retired Custodian for the Edison Board of Education. Leonard served in the US Army. He was a Bronze Star with Valor recipient for heroic efforts in the Battle of Heart Break Ridge in the Korean War. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace. His passions included: gardening, cowboy movies, football and polka music. He was a master of Jumble puzzles and loved and enjoyed animals.
Leonard was predeceased by four brothers: Joe, John, Mike and Ed; and three sisters: Margaret, Veronica and Agnes.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mildred (n. Gladis) Jevic, of Edison; two daughters, Rose Marie Orichowskyj and her husband, Steve, of Cherry Hill and Janice Jevic of Ewing; son, Lenny Jevic and his wife, Margaret, of Alantic Beach, FL; four grandchildren: Tara, Marissa, Daniel and Diana; brother-in-law, George Gladis, and sister-in-law, Eleanor Jevic, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection mausoleum.
