Leo Gursky, 93, of Edison, passed away in JFK Medical Center on November 11, 2013. He was born in Brisk, Poland, on July 1, 1920. Leo was the Owner/Operator of Gursky Plumbing in Perth Amboy, a company he started in 1970. He was a member of Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh in Perth Amboy and a member of the Knights of Pythias, in both of which organizations he held the office of president. Leo was a member of the NJ State League of Master Plumbers.
Leo was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Kelberman and Shirley Rosenberg; and two brothers, Victor and Sam Gursky.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Florence (nee Sisenwein) Gursky, of Edison; two daughters, Elin Gursky Rowley of Timonium, MD; Audrey Mattson and her husband Todd of New York, NY; three grandchildren: Michael, Lindsey, and John Mattson; nephews, Neil Gursky, Steven Gursky, and Adam Sisenwein; and nieces, Paula Perry and Alberta Sisenwine; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive mourners on Wednesday beginning at 12 Noon at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Funeral Services will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed Thursday evening from 3-8 pm.
