Kornylo Halushka, 91, of Brick, passed peacefully on August 1, 2017, at the Shorrock Gardens Care Center in Brick.

Born in Koshilivci, in the Ukraine, he spent most of his life in Perth Amboy.

Prior to his retirement in 1990, he had been employed with Goodman & Scott in Woodbridge as a Surveyor. He was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption and the Ukrainian National Home in Perth Amboy, He enjoyed participating in many cultural events including: dancing, singing, and acting.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents; Petro and Mariya Haluszka, his beloved wife Julia (Hnit) Halushka and his siblings; Dmytro, Wasyl and Dorothy.

Kornylo leaves behind his beloved son, Walter and his wife, Marion Nunn of Manchester, his beloved daughter, Irene Gargiulo of Lakewood, three nephews: Janusz, Roman, and Oleh and a niece, Dorothy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 2-5 pm with a Parastas Service at 4 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2017, at 10 am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 am Service of Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption in Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in the Ukrainian Church Cemetery in Hopelawn.
