Kim Stephen Piersanti, 56, of Edison, passed away on January 3, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick.
He was born in New Brunswick and lived most of his life in Edison. Kim was employed as a Postal Clerk at the Kilmer General Mail Facility in Edison for 25 years.
Kim was active for many years in the Society for Creative Anachronism, a group dedicated to studying and re-creating an idealized version of the Middle Ages. He played guitar and bass, and achieved a black belt in Tai Kwon Do. He was widely known for his easygoing nature, his friendliness, humor, and compassion, and will be devoutly missed.
Surviving is his partner, Terri Eck; and his brother, Edward and his sister, Darleen Moyle.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 18, 2014 from 2pm-4pm at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to a charitable cause in Kim's name. Given his lifelong love of animals and concern for prevention of animal cruelty, we have named a group that does excellent work in this field, and saves many animals normally deemed beyond the hope of rescue or recovery.
