Obituary of Kenneth M. Dilks


Kenneth M. Dilks, 64, of East Brunswick, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Mr. Dilks was born in Jersey City to the late Kenneth and Mary Dilks and had previously lived in Edison before moving to East Brunswick one year ago.

Ken was a well-known, highly respected liturgical cantor. He served numerous churches throughout New Jersey over the years. Most recently at the St. George Byzantine Catholic Church in Newark.

He was a beloved, dear friend to many. He enjoyed traveling, learning, diners and ice cream.

He was easy to speak to and could converse about any topic with ease. He was a true gentleman with a warm smile.

He is survived by his sister: Kathy Dilks-Anderson and her husband Eric of Monroe, CT. and two nephews; Matthew Dilks-Anderson and David Dilks-Anderson.

A Service of Divine Liturgy will be held Tuesday 10:00 am at the St. George Byzantine Catholic Church in Newark. Interment will follow in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Hackensack. Visitation hours will be held Sunday from 1pm until the Panachida service at 6 pm and also on Monday from 4pm until Parastas service at 6 pm at the St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, 214 Warwick Street, Newark, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
