Kathleen Mary Sands of Edison passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She was 71.

Born in Perth Amboy, she was a long-time resident of Edison. Kathleen worked for JFK Community Hospital for 25 years. She is survived by her husband Michael Sands; son Anthony Sands, his long-time companion Elizabeth Baginski and her grandchildren Angelyse and Edwin; sisters Carol Dutka, her husband Alexander; Patricia Comiskey, her husband Thomas, plus their son Shawn and his wife Annie.

Friends may call from 2-4pm & 7-9pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the funeral home followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Helena Catholic Church, 950 Grove Ave., Edison. Burial take place in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
