Kathleen T. Kinnelly, nee Jones, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Allentown, PA. She was born on September 24, 1933 to the late Timothy and Anna Jones in Perth Amboy, NJ. Kathleen grew up in her hometown of Perth Amboy and lived in the surrounding area for several years, including both Fords, NJ and Iselin, NJ. Most recently, Kathleen lived in Allentown to be closer to family.

Kathleen was a devout Catholic and deeply rooted in her community, being a long-time member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords, NJ and, more recently, of Immaculate Conception of Allentown, PA. Kathleen was also an extremely active member in the American Irish Association of Woodbridge, where she was named American Irish Person of the Year in 2000.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William Kinnelly; and her brother, John Jones.

Surviving Kathleen are her son William Kinnelly and Joanne Frank of Long Branch, NJ and her daughter Mary Russo and Martin Russo of Allentown, PA. Kathleen also had 4 grandchildren, Timothy Russo and Lauren Smith; Marykate Ellingsworth and Jared Ellingsworth; Liam Kinnelly and Aiden Kinnelly as well as 2 great grandchildren, Alexis and Quinten Ellingsworth.

Cremation will be private. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 between the hours of 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. She will be laid to rest with her family in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
