Obituary

Kathleen T. (Zajansckowsky) Hudanish 89, of Iselin, surrounded by her children, peacefully passed away on Tuesday May 5th, 2026, at JFK Medical Center, Edison. She is predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary (Pastrick) Zajansckowsky, longtime owners of Michael's Tavern, two sisters Anna Sofield and Dorothy Bakoski and her ex-husband Joseph Hudanish. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Hudanish, and his wife Diane of Grand Rapids, Michigan, David Hudanish of Manhattan, NY and daughter Eileen and her husband Don Scotti of Howell Township. Loving Grandmother to Brynn Hudanish, Justin and Kyle Scotti, beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who found her greatest joy in the people she loved. She cherished time with her family and friends, and grandchildren who brought endless happiness and fulfillment to her life. She always put everyone else's needs before herself and never complained. She had a passion for cooking and baking, filling homes with warmth and laughter. Whether she was hosting gatherings or playing bingo weekly with friends, she loved being active and bringing people together. She also loved the holidays, putting up decorations and keeping traditions. She enjoyed shopping, whether it was online or in stores, finding joy in picking out thoughtful gifts for the people she cared about.

She was a woman of faith whose religious beliefs guided her life and the way she cared for others. She will be remembered for her independence, strength, kindness, generosity and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Even in death she was giving to others, as her final wish was to have her body used for medical research.

A memorial visitation will be held at Flynn & Son / Mitruska Funeral Homes 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ on Saturday, July 18, 2026, between 10:00 am and 11:30 am which will conclude with a memorial service at 11:30 am.

To honor Kathleen's memory, contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
