Katherine Tackling (nee Smith), 88, of Colonia died January 6, 2012, at Care One in Edison. She was born June 29, 1923, in Clark Township. She was a Presser for Bond's Cleaners in Perth Amboy. She took great pride keeping her home in perfect condition.
Katherine was predeceased by her late husband, Prosper Tackling, who died in 1991; and her late nephew, Lawrence Lincoln. She is survived by her sisters, Gertrude Lincoln of Perth Amboy and Mildred Young of Edison; a host of nieces and nephews; Mildred Scott and her husband Richard; Nate Hutchins and his wife Brenda; Nicole Hutchins; William Lincoln and his wife Betty; Lauren Lincoln, and Larry Lincoln, Jr.; Deloris Anderson; Fredrick Lincoln; Chanelle McCullum and her husband Larry; Cheryl Scott; Pat Bruadnax and her husband Eli; Cathy McCauley; Tamara Cromody; Ivan Scott and his wife Pam; Maria and Martin; and many friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Prayers of comfort and reflection will be offered Wednesday evening at 8:30 pm at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home Thursday, January 12, at 9 am. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery.
